FAQ
When is the best time to start a landscaping project?
The work season generally runs from spring to autumn, when the ground is thawed and conditions allow for stable excavation. That said, winter is a good time to plan: discuss your ideas, get a quote and reserve your spot on the calendar. The earlier you start, the sooner your project can be completed at the beginning of the season.
How does the quotation process work?
The first step is to contact us by phone, email or form. We discuss your project, your needs and your budget, then we assess your property to provide you with a detailed quote. There is no obligation on your part after the quote is provided.
Do I need a permit for landscaping work?
It depends. Standard landscaping work such as laying paving stones at ground level, planting and fencing does not usually require a permit. However, installing a swimming pool, building a structure attached to the house or certain excavation work may require one. Rules vary from one municipality to another. We check the applicable standards before starting work.
Does my swimming pool have to be fenced in?
Yes. In Quebec, all residential swimming pools with a depth of 60 cm or more must be secured by a compliant enclosure. The fence must be at least 1.2 m high, prevent climbing and be equipped with a self-closing gate. Owners who do not comply are liable to fines of $500 to $1,000 per day.
Does paving stone require a lot of maintenance?
No. Paving stones require very little daily maintenance. Cleaning with water and a broom is sufficient for everyday dirt. Pressure washing is recommended approximately every five years to prevent blackening caused by plant contamination. If a paving stone is damaged, it can be replaced individually without having to redo the entire surface.
How do I maintain my turf after installation?
The first few weeks are the most important. The turf should be watered thoroughly, ideally twice a day for about two weeks, to allow for proper rooting. Avoid walking on it during this period. Once the roots are well established, regular watering and mowing when the grass reaches about 10 cm is sufficient.
Is landscaping a good investment?
Yes. Professional landscaping adds tangible value to your property and can speed up its resale. Beyond the property value, it is an additional living space that you can enjoy every day for years to come. The return on investment depends on the scope of the project and the materials chosen. Contact us to discuss the options that suit your budget.
How much does a landscaping project cost?
Costs vary considerably depending on the size, materials, complexity of the terrain and type of work. Rather than giving a generic range, we prefer to evaluate each project individually. Contact us for a detailed quote tailored to your property and your needs.
